Full-time, tenure-track position in Spanish effective September 2009. The successful candidate will teach all levels of Spanish language, literature and culture as well as courses in area of specialization. In addition, the candidate will advise and mentor students, develop curriculum offerings, and participate in departmental and college service activities. Requirements include a doctorate in Spanish or related field by time of appointment; specialization in Peninsular literature (generalist) preferred. Candidates must have a native or near-native fluency in Spanish, a strong record of teaching undergraduates, including heritage speakers, and be proficient in the use of technology. Applications that show interest and ability to teach courses in any of the following are especially welcome: Latin, Italian, linguistics and translation.
