Academic Scholarships and Awards for
students who are enrolled full-time in the School of Arts & Sciences
or the School of Nursing undergraduate programs.
Trustee Scholarship
This is the College’s premier award
offered annually to two entering students who are anticipated to have a
transformational effect on The College of New Rochelle: one in the
School of Arts & Sciences and one in the School of Nursing.

Demonstrated high academic achievement and effective leadership skills
SAT combined score of 1500 or higher
GPA of 96 or above
Award is renewed for four years of undergraduate study contingent on maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or above.

Rank in top 15% of high school class (where secondary school provides rank)

Award is renewed for four undergraduate years of study contingent on maintaining a GPA of 2.7 or above.

Honors Scholarship
This
prestigious award is offered to students enrolling in the School of
Arts & Sciences or the School of Nursing who have been admitted to
the
Honors Program.
Eligibility
Admission
to the Honors Program which depends on exceptional academic high school
performance and expectation for contribution to the academic life of
the College Community. Additional application to the Honors Program is
required. Award is renewed for four undergraduate years contingent upon
maintaining a GPA of 3.3 or above through the Sophomore year, 3.5 or
above for Junior and Senior years and remaining in the Honors Program.

City of New Rochelle Resident Award
In
honor of the 325th Anniversary of the founding of the City of New
Rochelle, The College of New Rochelle is investing in the future of the
city by dedicating a financial award to any resident of the City who is
accepted and enrolls in the School of Arts & Sciences or the School
of Nursing.

Catholic High School Graduate Award
In keeping with the Mission of The College of New Rochelle, this award is made to graduates of Catholic High Schools.

Graduate of Catholic high school who is accepted and enrolls in the School of Arts & Sciences or the School of Nursing.

St. Angela Award
Eligibility
Acceptance and enrollment in either the School of Arts & Sciences or the School of Nursing

based on high school performance, SAT score and potential contribution

Scholarships
and Awards are renewable each year provided student meets the renewal
requirements specified. Scholarships may be combined with other forms
of financial aid, however, total tuition scholarship and TAP (NY State
Tuition Assistance Program) Grant cannot exceed tuition charge. A
student may receive only one of the above scholarships or awards.
Specialized Scholarships & Awards
The
College of New Rochelle also offers several specialized scholarships
and awards based on specified criteria. Most do not require a separate
application for consideration. However, additional information may need
to be provided (e.g. resume, portfolio, audition, essay, etc.) prior to
selection.
Student-Faculty Research Scholarship
Highly
motivated students can enhance their undergraduate experience through
one-on-one research with a faculty member. Five Student-Faculty
Research Scholarships are awarded annually with an opportunity for
renewal each academic year. The area of research varies.

Students
majoring in art may choose to submit a portfolio of 14 to 20 pieces.
Recipients are chosen based on artistic ability and academic promise.

Students
with experience and interest in journalism can enhance their years at

Graduates
of Ursuline high schools have the opportunity to enhance the Catholic

Russel and Deborah Taylor Foundation Scholarship
Students
enrolled at The College of New Rochelle who wish to participate in
study abroad have the exciting opportunity to have half their costs
funded through this scholarship. Students must be upper division and
have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above in order to apply. An application,
selection criteria, and deadlines apply. (see information below)

Awarded

Rudin Scholarship for Nursing

then to students from the United States and then to international
students. Awardees are identified by the Dean of the School of Nursing.

Ralph & Mary Fischer Bell ’34 Scholarship
Awarded to students in the School of Arts & Sciences or School of Nursing who demonstrate academic excellence.

Merit scholarship for students in the School of Arts & Sciences.
Cook Scholarship
Awarded to two graduates of Cathedral High School who have demonstrated academic excellence during their high school years.
Joan Cook Scholarship
Awarded
to a student who has graduated from a private or parochial high school,
is a member of the National Honor Society, and resides outside New York
State
Suzanne C. Danahar Scholarship
Awarded to a
highly qualified sophomore who has demonstrated academic achievement in
nursing, scientific research, or social justice.
George & Margaret Svack Dyroff Scholarship
Awarded
to an incoming freshman who has demonstrated academic excellence during
high school, who is majoring in Chemistry at CNR, and has financial
need.
Ann & Patrick Foley Scholarship
Awarded to a
student who is a sophomore or beyond, has demonstrated academic success
and demonstrated financial need in order to complete the college
degree.
Ann Tubman & Grace Tubman Mullaney
Awarded to a student based on academic merit and financial need.
Sr. Dorothy Ann Kelly Scholarship
Rotated
among the four Schools of the College, this scholarship is awarded upon
initial enrollment and is renewable until graduation contingent upon
maintaining good academic standing; recipient will have prior
significant academic achievement, demonstrated potential for leadership
by prior achievement, recommendation or essay, and demonstrated
financial need.
Eugene Lang Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming freshman who has demonstrated academic merit during high school and has demonstrated financial need.
McEntegart Sisters Family Fund Scholarship
Awarded
to an incoming freshman raised in a single parent household who has
demonstrated academic merit in high school and has demonstrated
financial need.
Carole McCarthy Nicholson Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming freshman who has demonstrated academic merit during high school.
James J. Nicholson, Esq. Scholarship
Awarded
to an incoming freshman in the School of Arts & Sciences whose
parent is a uniformed worker (firefighter, police officer, sanitation
worker, bus driver, etc.), and who has demonstrated academic merit
during high school and has demonstrated financial need.
Katherine Hanson O’Malley Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming freshman who has demonstrated academic merit during high school and has demonstrated financial need.
Helen Hanson Walsh Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming freshman in the School of Arts & Sciences who is majoring in English.
Mary Lou Maiolo Zuanelli Fund Scholarship
Awarded
to an incoming freshman in the School of Arts & Sciences, is either
a first or second generation college student, who is majoring or
minoring in Spanish and has demonstrated financial need.
