Multilingual/Multicultural
Education Faculty Position
The Graduate School invites applications
and nominations for an annual renewable Term contract faculty position
to teach 3 courses in Multilingual/Multicultural Education. These
courses will be offered at our co-sponsored sites throughout the
metropolitan area.
Our education programs include: Art Education, Childhood Education,
Creative Teaching and Learning (Gifted Education), Early Childhood
Education, Literacy Education (Reading), Multilingual/Multicultural
Education (TESOL), and Special education, as well as programs in
Educational Leadership.
Join our team of dedicated professionals. Our beautiful 20-acre
campus is located in Westchester County near Long Island Sound and is
easily accessible to midtown Manhattan by public transportation.
Qualifications and Position Responsibilities
Doctorate
in Applied Linguistics, Bilingual Education, TESOL, Foreign Language or
related field (ABD considered with relevant research and presentations)
and at least three years experience as a classroom teacher.
Experience in teaching foreign language, or TESOL, or bilingual
education (PreK-12), and research in second language acquisition
preferred. Responsibilities include:
• Teaching graduate courses
• Advising and mentoring students
• Developing relationships with area schools
• Doing scholarly work; and
• Participating in school, campus, state, and
national professional and service activities
