The Graduate School of The College of New
Rochelle seeks an experienced administrator for the Director of
Education Center and Student Placements position available July 1,
2008. The Graduate School has an outstanding reputation and we are
proud of our student-centered focus, small classes, dynamic programs,
and personal attention.
The Education Center at
the Graduate School provides a variety of educational and therapeutic
programs for children and adults. The Education Center is staffed by
students who are master’s degree candidates in education, guidance and
counseling, and school psychology who work under the supervision of
Graduate School faculty. Programs are scheduled throughout the year and
coincide with the College’s semester schedule.

dedicated professionals. Our beautiful 20-acre campus is located in
Westchester County near Long Island Sound, and is easily accessible to
midtown Manhattan by public transportation.
Reporting to the
Associate Dean, the responsibilities for this position include: daily
management of the Education Center; providing resources, testing
materials, and support to the faculty of all three of the school’s
divisions (Art and Communication Studies, Human Services, and
Education) as well as coordination of tutoring services offered in
conjunction with our graduate courses. Position will include evening
hours in order to be available to the Graduate School’s evening courses
and students. In addition, the position also involves coordination and
placement of graduate students in student teaching assignments,
practica and internship settings. In this capacity the Director is
responsible for collaborating within the College and with public and
private schools, health organizations, hospitals, and with social
service agencies.
The successful candidate must have an earned master’s degree in
education, pupil personnel services, or educational administration;
must have effective interpersonal communication skills; and three years
experience as a classroom teacher preferred.

The Graduate School, founded in 1969 in response to the needs of
working professionals, offers Master’s degree programs in the areas of
Education, Human Services, and Art and Communication Studies.
Certificates and professional diplomas are also offered in selected
professional areas.
The Graduate School
offers the Master of Science in Education degree in the fields of
Childhood Education, Creative Teaching and Learning (Gifted Education),
Early Childhood Education, Literacy Education,
Multilingual/Multicultural Education (TESOL), Special Education; it
offers the Master of Science degree in the fields of Art Therapy, Art
Therapy Counseling, Career Development, Communication Studies,
Educational Leadership, Guidance and Counseling, Gerontology, Mental
Health Counseling, School Psychology, and Studio Art; it offers the
Master of Arts degree in Art Education. Advanced graduate certificate
programs are offered in Bilingual Education, Communication Studies,
Creative Teaching and Learning (Gifted Extension), Guidance and
Counseling, School Building Leader, and Thanatology (Grief Counseling).
A School District Leader Professional Diploma program is also
available.
