Director of Art and
Communication Programs (non-faculty)
The Graduate School of The College of New Rochelle seeks an experienced
administrator for the Director of Art and Communication Programs
position available immediately. This is a full-time professional staff
position responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the
Division. The Graduate School has an outstanding reputation and we are
proud of our dynamic programs, student-centered focus, and small
classes.
Our art and communication programs include: Art Therapy, Communication
Studies and Studio Art.
Join
our team of dedicated professionals. Our beautiful 20-acre campus is
located in Westchester County near Long Island Sound, and is easily
accessible to midtown Manhattan by car or public transportation.
The responsibilities for this position include working collaboratively
with the Associate Dean to: manage enrollment; prepare class schedules;
manage staff; recruit and hire adjunct faculty; manage budgets; develop
and coordinate student placements; assess Art and Communication
Programs; support the use of assessment data to improve teaching and
learning; prepare program proposals for submission to NY State
Education Department for approval; collaborate within the College and
with public/private schools, the corporate sector, and with
state/federal agencies; and provide a student-friendly environment
within the division by assisting with advisement, reviews of student
progress, responses to student inquiries, meetings with students on
probation, and intake and exit interviews.
The
successful candidate must have a Master’s degree, a proven record of
success in educational administration and supervision, solid
organizational and planning skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience in art, communication, or a related field is preferred.

The Graduate School, founded in 1969 in response to the needs of
working professionals, offers Master’s degree programs in the areas of
Education, Human Services, and Art and Communication Studies.
Certificates and professional diplomas are also offered in selected
professional areas.
The Graduate School offers the Master of Science in Education degree in
the fields of Childhood Education, Creative Teaching and Learning
(Gifted Education), Early Childhood Education, Literacy Education,
Multilingual/Multicultural Education (TESOL), Special Education; it
offers the Master of Science degree in the fields of Art Therapy, Art
Therapy Counseling, Career Development, Communication Studies,
Educational Leadership, Guidance and Counseling, Gerontology, Mental
Health Counseling, School Psychology, and Studio Art; it offers the
Master of Arts degree in Art Education. Advanced graduate certificate
programs are offered in Bilingual Education, Communication Studies,
Creative Teaching and Learning (Gifted Extension), Guidance and
Counseling, School Building Leader, and Thanatology (Grief Counseling).
A School District Leader Professional Diploma program is also
available.

The first Catholic
college for women in New York State,
The
College of New Rochelle was founded in 1904 by the Ursuline Order.
Today,
it comprises the all-women School of Arts & Sciences, and three
schools
which admit women and men: the School of New Resources (for adult
learners),
the School of Nursing and the Graduate School. The main campus of
the College is located in lower Westchester County, 16 miles north of
New York City. The College maintains five other campus locations
in New York
City.
