Adjunct
Faculty in Sociology
The School
of Arts and Sciences of The College of New Rochelle invites
applications for adjunct faculty to teach an undergraduate course,
Introductory Sociology, during the Fall 2008 semester. The course is
scheduled to meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:50pm – 6:05pm.
Sociology courses in subsequent semesters may include criminology and
racial and ethnic stratification, in addition to introductory courses.
The School of Arts and Sciences is one of four schools of the College
and serves a population of undergraduate women. The College is
located on a beautiful suburban campus 16 miles north of midtown
Manhattan and easily accessible by public transportation. A
Catholic college in the Ursuline tradition, we welcome applicants from
all backgrounds who can contribute to our unique educational mission.
Candidates should have, at a minimum, a Master’s degree in Sociology
and experience in teaching students with diverse learning styles.

The first Catholic
college for women in New York State,
The
College of New Rochelle was founded in 1904 by the Ursuline Order.
Today,
it comprises the all-women School of Arts & Sciences, and three
schools
which admit women and men: the School of New Resources (for adult
learners),
the School of Nursing and the Graduate School. The main campus of
the College is located in lower Westchester County, 16 miles north of
New York City. The College maintains five other campus locations
in New York
City.
