Blue Angels Receive All-Conference Honors in Tennis


Deanna Tozzo SN'16 and Jhanelle Mullings SN'15 recently received All-Conference honors from the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference.
Tozzo, a three-time HVWAC Rookie of the Week, posted a 5-2 record against conference opponents while playing at No. 1 singles for the Blue Angels.  The Shrub Oak, NY, native earned a seeded placement in the No. 1 single flight, and advanced to the HVWAC Championship match after a thrilling semifinal win in a tie-breaker over two-time HVWAC Player of the Week Nora Landes of Sarah Lawrence College.  She also played No. 1 doubles for CNR.
Mullings was a steady player for the Blue Angels in 2012, helping CNR to a third-place finish in the conference. The Bronx, NY, native played in several flights for the team, earning a 3-2 record in conference play and advancing to the semifinals at No. 5 singles, falling to the eventual champion.  She also advanced to the semifinals in the No. 2 doubles flight.  When teamed with Nancy Varughese in doubles play, Mullings produced a 4-3 record.
