Biology Major Recognized by Westchester Chemical Society

Biology major Bojana Demirovic SAS'14 was recently recognized by the Westchester Chemical Society, a local section of the American Chemical Society, for her outstanding achievements in the two-semester introductory Chemical Principles course sequence.

Bojana was honored with a framed certificate; a copy of the Merck Index, an internationally recognized handbook of chemical compounds, drugs, and natural products; and other ACS memorabilia. The awards ceremony and dinner, held May 1 at Pace University in Pleasantville, featured the presentation of the Society's Distinguished Scientist Award to Dr. Sunghee Lee of Iona College, in recognition of her ongoing research in the areas of biomineralization and controlled crystal formation in water microdroplets.

Bojana was accompanied by fellow CNR students Shacelles Bonner SAS'15 and Ahisahar Gomez SAS'15 and her course instructors Dr. Lee Warren, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, and Dr. Elvira Longordo, Associate Professor of Chemistry.
