Opening weekend at The College of New Rochelle is a family affair. CNR will be your new home away from home, so we’d like to share some
packing tips before you get here.
New Resident Move In
The residence halls open for new resident students on the Friday before Labor Day each year. You should go directly to the lobby of your assigned residence hall, arriving on campus between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. When you arrive, you will receive your room key and mailbox code. The Student Development professional staff will be on hand to help you check-in and find your way around the residence hall and the campus. Our
resident assistants and
student orientation staff leaders will also be a valuable resource to you during this time. You will reconnect with the new friends you made and the SOS Leaders you met during the
Jump Start to Orientation program in July. You will also meet a host of returning students who will soon become a part of your everyday life at the College.
Once you have settled in and said goodbye to your families,
Orientation will kick off an array of activities for you. All freshmen, residents and commuters, are required to attend Orientation in September.

Returning Resident Move In
The residence halls open for returning residents from Noon to 8pm on Labor Day Monday and from Noon to 6pm Tuesday. Returning residents should go directly to the lobby of their buildings to check in with the staff. If you are not sure of your fall assignment or would like to check the status of the wait lists, please contact Rosann Santos-Elliott at (914) 654-5369 or
rsantos@cnr.edu.
Returning Residents who are not registered or who have outstanding accounts with the Bursar’s office must contact those offices to resolve the matter prior to check-in. Please note that these offices are closed on Labor Day.
Classes begin on Wednesday. Therefore, we encourage returners to take the opportunity on Tuesday to finish up any last minute errands such as purchasing books, visiting the Bursar and/or Financial Aid offices, adding money to your auxiliary account at the Security office or stopping by Counseling and Career Services to find on- and off-campus job opportunities.
Weeks of Welcome Events
The Office of Student Development has put together a schedule of events for the month of September to allow students to reconnect with one another, and to meet our new students. If you have any questions about these events and would like to participate, please contact Tiffani Blake at (914) 654-5326 or
tblake@cnr.edu. We look forward to greeting all of you as we begin the new semester! See You soon.
