Resident Assistants
Resident Assistants are an important part of student life at CNR. RAs are part-time, paraprofessional student employees who live in the residence halls and serve as a primary resource for our residents. Some of their primary responsibilities include assisting students during opening and closing of the residence halls throughout the year, building community, developing quality programming implementing the Wellness Model, encouraging civility, engaging students in life at CNR inside and outside the classroom, assisting students in understanding diversity, and helping students live by and understand the College’s policies and procedures.

Resident Assistants often gain valuable skills in their roles. They learn to assess the needs of their residents to determine the best programming for their areas, to model behavior that is consistent with the Student Development philosophy and the mission of the College and to respond to emergencies in their residence hall.  RAs are CPR certified and are trained in time management, leadership, and mediation skills.

Students interested in becoming a Resident Assistant should first review the position requirements. Applications to join this dynamic team of student leaders are accepted only during RA Selection. To apply, please download the Resident Assistant application package and return it completed to the Student Development Office, SCC 231.
