APPLYING FOR AID AT CNR

Applying for financial aid at The College of New Rochelle is easy.  Just follow the instructions below:
  1. Complete and send a CNR Financial Aid Application to the CNR Financial Aid Office;

  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online or on paper;

  3. complete a verification worksheet;

  4. complete a sibling confirmation form, if you have siblings attending college;

  5. New York State will mail each student a pre-printed application for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) when he/she completes the FAFSA.  This application needs to be completed and returned to the State.  If you are a resident of another state, check with your state's Financial Aid agency.  Other states which have aid programs that can be used at CNR are:

    • Delaware: State Scholarship and Grant Program.  Call (302) 577-6055.
    • Rhode Island: State Scholarship and Grant Program.  Student must attend at least part-time and have financial need.  Call (401) 277-2050.
    • Vermont: Incentive Grant.  Student must apply by March 1 and must attend at least part-time and have financial need.  Call (802) 655-9602.

  6. Send signed photocopies of your and your parents' Federal and State income tax returns for 2000 to the CNR Financial Aid Office as early as possible.  W-2 forms cannot be accepted.  Write the student's name and social security number clearly on all pages of the copy.

The Financial Aid Office will consider each student for financial aid on the basis of a need analysis of the applications for aid and income tax returns.  Each student will receive a financial aid package indicating the amount of money expected from all sources.  It is the student's responsibility to see that all correspondence with external funding agencies is submitted to the appropriate office so that his/her account can be properly credited.
