ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
As an Environmental Studies major, you will be broadly trained in
communications skills and critical thinking. You will also
receive a strong knowledge base to identify, analyze and solve complex
environmental problems. Environmental issues require an
integration of diverse facets of human life; therefore, the Environmental
Studies Program has at its core a series of courses selected to provide
students with a foundation of knowledge and information. The
major combines the traditional liberal arts with an innovative, experiential
approach that provide the oral, written and analytical skills needed
to apply to the analysis of real life environmental issues.
Upon completing the Environmental Studies major, you may enter environmental
science careers, environmental management posts, teaching, business,
politics or law. The program is sufficiently diverse to
be useful to students having general interest in the environment who
are unsure of which major to choose.
